African American women in particular have high rates of the major risk factors for heart disease, including obesity, physical inactivity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Cardiology Associates Foundation and The Heart Truth Women of Color initiative will focus on extending The Heart Truth messages through educational sessions, materials and guest speaker Dr. Roosevelt Gilliam, M.D., and inspire them to take action to reduce their risks for heart disease. The conference will take place Saturday, February 13, 10 am- 2pm, at St. Bernards Auditorium.
