Michael Givens, SBMC Administrator, Appointed to National Council of Regents
Michael K. Givens, FACHE, Administrator, St. Bernards Medical Center, has been appointed to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives. The Council of Regents serves as the vital link between ACHE and members by approving governance and membership regulations as well as promoting ACHE programs, services and activities within their respective areas.
Givens took office at the Council of Regents meeting March 2, 2019, during ACHE’s 62nd Congress on Healthcare Leadership at the Hilton Chicago. As a Regent, Givens represents ACHE’s membership for the state of Arkansas.
Givens has served as Administrator of St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas since 2010. Prior to serving as administrator, Givens served in numerous leadership roles at St. Bernards since 2001. He also worked for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospitals, before joining the team at St. Bernards.
Givens is a 2004 Graduate of Leadership Jonesboro. He presently serves on the board of the Jonesboro Hispanic Community Center. Givens has served on many other boards within the community, including the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, where he also served as Chairman of the Board.
Board-certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Givens is both a member and board representative for the Arkansas Health Executives Forum. The forum serves as the ACHE state chapter for the state of Arkansas.
Givens received his master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from Harding University, Searcy, AR., and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR.
