St. Bernards Begins Infant Memorial Program
Today, St. Bernards announced the beginning of an infant memorial program, which commemorates any life lost at the hospital from conception up to 12 weeks.
St. Bernards is among the first in the region to establish a program of this kind. A memorial stone, bench and corner markers now mark the grave located at Holy Cross Cemetery in Jonesboro.
“As a Catholic healthcare organization, St. Bernards is rooted in a commitment to promote and defend human dignity,” said Sister Maria Christi Cavanaugh, St. Bernards Vice President of Mission Services. “This is the foundation of the Catholic Church’s concern to respect the sacredness of every human life from the moment of conception until death.”
Since February of 2018, St. Bernards has assisted more than 100 families during this difficult time.
