St. Bernards CrossRidge Community Hospital Names Garrett Morgan as New Administrator
St. Bernards CrossRidge Community Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Wynne, has named Garrett Morgan as its new administrator.
Morgan spent the previous two years working as a leader within St. Bernards Healthcare, including most recently as the system’s director of regional clinics. A native of Alabama, Morgan attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) where he studied healthcare management and played football. He eventually earned master’s degrees in both business administration and health administration from UAB. His work during that time included health care settings in behavioral health, hospitals and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Morgan succeeds long-time St. Bernards CrossRidge administrator Gary Sparks, who recently retired following 25 years of helming the hospital and working at St. Bernards. Morgan, who has lived in both rural and urban settings throughout his life, said access to high-quality health care helps sustain and grow communities, regardless of their size.
“Traveling up and down the Arkansas Delta over the past year showed me opportunities to improve how we provide and deliver care,” Morgan said. “I’m impressed with how Wynne and Cross County in particular support its hospital and practitioners, opening doors for what we can offer this community. Mr. Sparks laid a great foundation for CrossRidge’s success, and I’m excited to build upon a legacy of service.”
Morgan lives in Wynne with his wife, Katelynn. They are expecting their first child in 2025.
St. Bernards CrossRidge was founded in 1952 as a 54-bed county hospital under the name Cross County Community Hospital. It began a 35-year lease agreement with St. Bernards in 1999. Today, its 180-plus team members provide numerous healthcare services to the region, including 24/7 emergency medicine, specialty clinics, imaging, laboratory, home health, community wellness and education, and more. In 2023, the Delta Regional Authority selected the hospital to participate in its Delta Region Community Health Systems Development – Technical Assistance Program, enhancing healthcare delivery to the community.
