Orthopedic Surgeon Asa Shnaekel, M.D., M.P.H. joined the surgical team with Jonesboro Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine (JOSM) practicing at St. Bernards Medical Center in 2022. Dr. Shnaekel arrived at St. Bernards after completing a fellowship with the Southern Joint Replacement Institute in Nashville, Tenn. focusing on hip and knee replacements.
Dr. Shnaekel earned his doctorate of medicine (M.D.) from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock in 2016, graduating with honors for his work in research. In addition to earning an M.D., he also earned a master of public health (M.P.H) from UAMS that same year.
An award-winning researcher, Dr. Shnaekel’s work has been published in numerous academic research journals. In addition, he holds memberships with American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arkansas Medical Society.
Dr. Shnaekel lives in Jonesboro with his wife, Kelsey, an OB-GYN with St. Bernards OB-GYN Associates, and their two Corgis.
