Dr. Al-Shahrouri served as an assistant professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in the Department of Medicine from August 2007 - December 2011 and is experienced in teaching medical students, residents and fellows. In addition to teaching, Dr. Al-Shahrouri served as the Director for the VA Renal Clinic at South Texas Veterans Affair from January 2008 - December 2011. She then practiced at Sparks Medical Health System is Fort Smith, AR from November 2011 to July of 2017. She has received multiple awards, including: Intern of the year in 2001, the 2002 Certificate of Excellence in recognition of 1st place achievement at the annual resident research day, the 2003 Internal Medicine Health Care Center Resident of the Year and the 2007 Nephrology Young Investigator Scholar. She is a member of the American Society of Nephrology.
