Beverly Nix, MHA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer
Beverly Nix has served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of St. Bernards Healthcare Associated Regional Providers (SHARP) since its inception in 1993. Under her guidance SHARP has grown from zero to 528,000 plus covered lives within Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri. The service area has grown from 3 counties to 22 counties in Arkansas and added providers in Tennessee and Missouri.
She oversees all aspects of the organization on a day to day basis. Responsibilities include: business development, client relationships, staffing requirements, sales and marketing, employer data reporting, medical management and having an extensive knowledge of the evolving healthcare industry, the insurance industry and the implications of such to the healthcare providers and employers.
Beverly received her bachelor's degree in accounting from Arkansas State University and she has her Masters degree in Healthcare Administration. Beverly is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Beverly performs volunteer work for many local community and professional organizations. She is the Past Chairman of the Board for the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, St. Bernards Women's Advisory Council and American Red Cross “ The Greater Ozarks “ Blood Services, which includes Arkansas and Western Tennessee, and ASU Chancellor's Cabinet. She also served as a past member of the Board of Directors for the Arkansas State University Research & Development Institute. She is a current member of the St. Bernards Healthcare Advisory, the Jonesboro Economic Development Corporation, the St. Bernard's Medical Group, Jonesboro Unlimited and the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce. Beverly is a graduate of Leadership Jonesboro and a past commissioner for the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and the Auditorium Commission.
Beverly was named a Distinguished Alumni for Arkansas State University in 2012. She was inducted into the Legacy Society at ASU in 2010. Beverly was chosen as one of the top 10 female executive for Arkansas in 2012. In November of 2014, Beverly was named as one of the top 8 Influential Women in Arkansas by Arkansas Money and Politics. Beverly has also been honored as the Jonesboro Business Woman of the Year twice, once in 1991 and again in 2002.
Sherry Barber, MSN, RN, Director of Medical Management
Sherry Barber is the Medical Management Director and has been with SHARP since November 2020. Sherry is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and operational aspects of the Medical Management Department. She oversees the collaborative team that will assess, plan implement, monitor, evaluate and coordinate the options and services to ensure cost effective care based on the needs of the patient. The goal is to find how to obtain and deliver the best care within the structure of the patient's health benefit plan. Sherry works closely with the Medical Director in monitoring quality of care and services provided to patients, access and availability of services and clinical adequacy of care.
Sherry has been a Registered Nurse since 1999. After completing her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with President's Honors, Sherry continued on to get her Master's Degree in Nursing with emphasis in Executive Leadership where she graduated with Distinction at Chamberlain College of Nursing in Downers Grove, IL. While in college she was an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
She is currently certified in BLS, ACLS, NRP and a Certified Site Review Nurse. Sherry brings to SHARP experience in Critical Care, OB, NICU, Travel Nursing, Nursing Administration and Insurance. Prior to joining SHARP, Sherry was a Performance Improvement Clinical Nurse Specialist in CA for a large insurance company.
Katherine Prescott, General Counsel
Katherine has served as General Counsel for SHARP since April 2021, Katherine is responsible for the drafting and review of all legal documents, and advising on any legal matters involving SHARP.
Katherine received her Bachelor of Arts in political science from Arkansas State University, and her Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis. Katherine is licensed to practice law in the State of Arkansas, and has focused her law practice on contract law, intellectual property law, employment law, sponsored research and technology transfer, and healthcare law.
Katherine enjoys volunteering with local community organizations. She is a member of Junior Auxiliary of Jonesboro, serving on its Board from 2017-2022, and as the 2020-2021 President. She also serves: as a member of the St. Bernards Women's Advisory Council, serving as the Chair for 2022-2023; on the Northeast Arkansas Family Crisis Center's Executive Board; and, as an active representative in the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, as a member on its Governmental Affairs Committee since 2008, and as past member of the Jonesboro Young Professionals Network. Katherine is a member of the American Health Law Association, Arkansas State Bar Association, and a member of the Craighead County Bar Association, serving as the 2021-2022 President. Katherine was named as one of Premiere Magazine's "30 under 40" in 2019, served as a Chapter Support Coordinator and Board member for the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, was a member of the inaugural class of Emerging Leaders program with the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of the 2023 Leadership Jonesboro class with the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Linda Waterman, Administrative Assistant
Linda is a NE Arkansas native born and raised in Lake City for most of her life until she moved to Bay, AR to finish up her senior year. Linda serves as an administrative assistant for SHARP since February of 2017 where she aids in the day to day functions of the office. Before joining SHARP, Linda served in a variety of functions over her 50 year career, from handling accounts for an auto sales business, owning a business with her husband to over 25 years in banking. Linda enjoys her family time as she and her husband have one son, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
