Screening & Testing

Your audiologist might order one or more of these tests to learn how well you or your child hears:

  • Comprehensive hearing evaluation – Asks you to respond to a series of sounds to identify hearing loss and the type and level of loss
  • Tympanometry – Reveals problems in the middle ear
  • Otoacoustic emissions test – Places a tiny microphone in the ear to measure the inner ear’s response to sounds and detect hearing loss, especially in babies

Treatments & Ear Protection

After a diagnosis of a hearing condition, your audiologist will explore your options for hearing aids and other assistive listening devices. We provide hearing aid fittings, education and long-term follow-up care to make sure the technology helps you as much as possible.

Do you or your child swim? Ask us about standard and custom swim molds (small plugs) that protect the ears from water.

If you live with tinnitus, you’ll receive advice on treating and coping with ringing in the ears. You may benefit from amplification, lifestyle changes and support from the American Tinnitus Association.
