Throughout your cancer journey at St. Bernards Healthcare, lean on our navigators for guidance. These friendly professionals:
- Act as a liaison between you and other team members
- Coordinate appointments and make sure you receive all the services you need
- Look for financial assistance
- Provide emotional support to you and your family
They not only point you in the right direction, but also walk with you every step of the way. Think of them as your partners in care.
Connecting You to Community Resources
As a new patient, you’ll meet with cancer navigators to explore helpful community resources for you and your family. Ask about services such as mental health counseling, childcare, transportation, discounted lodging and more. To reach a general cancer navigator, call 870.207.8251.
Breast Patient Navigator
After a routine screening mammogram, you may receive a call back for more testing if a radiologist sees something unusual. In this case, you’ll talk to a breast patient navigator certified by the National Consortium of Breast Centers. She:
- Explains your test results
- Arranges more exams you may need, such as a biopsy (procedure to diagnose or rule out cancer)
- Helps you take the next steps after learning your biopsy results
- Serves as your advocate during breast cancer treatment and recovery

Head & Neck Cancer Navigator
Count on our head and neck cancer navigator for support after a diagnosis of cancer affecting your mouth or throat. This professional is a registered dietitian who can help you:
- Get treatment in a timely way
- Learn how to eat and drink during and after treatment
- Make appointments for speech therapy
