Primary Care
Healthy living is easier when you have help. That’s where your primary care provider comes in. St. Bernards Healthcare is your partner in long-term wellness—from preventive care and routine exams to injury and illness treatment. No matter what services you need, we’ll deliver them with care and compassion. That’s our promise to you.
Why Choose a Primary Care Provider (PCP)?
A primary care clinic is your home base. It’s where you start whenever you have a health question or concern. Your PCP knows your personal and family health history, so they’re the best-qualified professional to help you. They care for you as a whole person—not only your physical health, but also your mental, emotional and spiritual wellness.
Jenny Keller’s Story
When Jenny began having odd symptoms at a young age, she turned to her primary care doctor at St. Bernards First Care. What he discovered changed her life.
Types of PCPs
Choose one of these types of St. Bernards providers for yourself or your loved ones:
Wellness Visits
An annual wellness visit is one of the most important appointments you have with your PCP. We use this time to identify risk factors and early signs of diseases, so we can help you prevent or treat those illnesses as soon as possible. Many chronic health problems start in young adulthood, and they’re easier to treat when caught in their first stages.
Referrals to Specialists
Your PCP is the front door to the comprehensive St. Bernards Healthcare system, which includes hundreds of specialists. If you need to see a doctor who specializes in a certain condition, your PCP can give you a referral. The specialist will tell your primary doctor about any tests and treatments you receive. That means you’ll get coordinated care for all your needs.
Appointments
If you’ve seen us at least once and you’re feeling ill, call us to ask if we can schedule your appointment for the same day. Most of our clinics have sick-call appointments available. We want to help you start feeling better as soon as possible.
If you can’t make your appointment for any reason, please let us know so we can discuss rescheduling.
Prescription Refills
After you call your PCP to refill a prescription, your clinic will send the refill request to your pharmacy. Refill processing may take up to 48 hours (two business days).
Urgent Care
If your PCP isn’t available, walk into a St. Bernards urgent care location in Jonesboro, Kennett, Manila or Paragould. You’ll find timely treatment for everyday illnesses and injuries.
